Neymar has put PSG on red alert after expressing an interest in a world record breaking move to Real Madrid.
Reports in Spain have been rife with news on the Brazilian icon in recent weeks, with initial talk of the forward hoping for a return to Barcelona.
The father of the player, who also acts as his agent, is now reported to have met with the hierarchy of Real Madrid, who have obtained a rough financial estimation of what it would take to bring Neymar to the Bernabeu in a sensational move, according to AS.
The Spanish publication ran with the headline ‘Neymar asusta al PSG’ on Monday morning, translating to ‘Neymar scares PSG.’
Prior to PSG’s Champions League elimination by Madrid recently, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had stated ‘2000 per cent’ confidence of the Brazilian staying in the French capital.
The player’s opinion is said to have altered however after the Parisians failed to make the final eight of the competition.
Al Khelaifi has been working hard to keep his star asset happy in recent weeks, publicly praising his father and agent recently in hope of keeping Neymar on side.
Following the recent Madrid revelations however the PSG chief has personally flown to Brazil to speak with Neymar, who is currently still in his homeland recovering from an operation following the foot injury sustained during a recent win over rivals Marseille.
A fee in the region of €400m (£355m) has been circulating, believed to be the price that could see Neymar leave Paris and make a remarkable switch to the bitter rivals of his former club Barcelona.
Should any such move occur in the future, it would see Neymar shatter the record set by himself when putting pen to paper for PSG, in a transfer which required the meeting of a £198m buy-out clause.
